Miss Mustang Beauty Pageant!

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen!

The girls have been primping for weeks, bathing in pure, unfiltered creek water, taking daily mud baths, and soaking their hides with other substances we'd prefer not to discuss here at Miss Mustang International. We've got quite a few beauties, and some new ones, too.

Judges, get your scorecards ready!
Here we have Rose, a contestant from Nevada!
Despite her girly name, Rose is a definite tomboy. She
likes playing tennis and wrestling. She is a black belt in
tae kwon do, and she fights for the rights of liberty.
(Oh. Don't call her Rosie.)

Another contest from Georgia is Holly!
Holly is a award-winning horse, who enjoys
reading Socrates. Following her run as Miss Mustang, Holly
plans to improve her vocabulary so she can sound
real, real smart. (A side note: Holly loves being the center
 of attention.)

Here's Miles, from a small town in Alabama.
She loves running and math. She also likes to
count how many miles she's going whenever she pulls
a cart. If she wins tonight, she intends to return to school to
get her Ph. D in Equine Math.

Showing her proud profile here, Princess comes
from the state of Indiana. Her favorite kind of
music is by Joanna Lee; she loves country
songs! If Princess becomes Miss Mustang,
she hopes to take lessons for singing.

Showing us her best side, this is Dixie from Montana! Her favorite
color is lime green, and she loves cooking and knitting.
Oh, and she absolutely adores Gone With the Wind.
The horse version, of course. Nice to have you
here, Dixie!

And finally, this beauty is Lulu, Miss Virginia! Lulu loves eating wildflowers, relaxing in the sun, and bathing. If she wins the crown tonight, she hopes to establish a place where gals can primp, have their hair done, have their hooves
shined, and have their fur brushed till
it shines. Welcome, Lulu!

Who'll win the crown? You decide. But I'm pulling for Lulu....

This beauty pageant was inspired by the one in The Pioneer Woman, a cookbook by Ree Drummond. She's so funny and has really great recipes. And I just love reading all the funny stories thrown in there!

  1. Whew! This took such a long time to make. Hope you like it! I got it from this cooking book "The Pioneer Woman". She was a city girl, but she married a cowboy. I love her book!
